Privacy Policy

A Little Better is provided by Serge Sysoev. This policy explains what stays on your device, what optional analytics send, and how to contact us.

01

Your personal content stays on your device

The app works without an account. Helpful actions, descriptions, pinned actions, focus areas, room progress, history, and reminder preferences are stored on your device. The app and its widget share this local storage. We do not receive your descriptions or pinned-action text, and the app does not sync your content to a product account or our servers.

Your device’s backup and restore settings may include app data in backups managed by Apple or by you. A Little Better does not operate a cloud backup or sync service.

02

Optional usage analytics

You can use the app with analytics disabled. The onboarding screen lets you choose whether to share usage analytics, and you can change this in Settings at any time. Limited onboarding events may wait in a local queue before you make that choice. Events are uploaded only while analytics is enabled; declining or disabling analytics clears the queue and stops new collection and uploads. An upload already in transit may have reached the server.

When enabled, analytics contain only predefined information:

  • A random identifier for this app installation, event identifiers, and event and receipt timestamps.
  • App version and language.
  • Usage events, such as completing onboarding, logging an action, viewing history, using the widget, or changing reminder settings.
  • Predefined categories: life area, action source, room stage, number of selected focus areas, and a broad return-after-break bucket.

The installation identifier lets us group events from the same installation. It is not an advertising identifier and is not connected to an account, name, or email address. Because it can link usage events together, we treat this data as pseudonymous rather than promising that it is completely anonymous.

We use these events to understand app use and improve the experience. Analytics do not include action descriptions, pinned-action text, names, email addresses, contacts, notification contents, precise location, health records, financial account information, or other free-form personal content.

03

Service providers and retention

Analytics are sent over HTTPS to a Cloudflare Worker and stored in Cloudflare D1. Cloudflare provides the hosting and database infrastructure and may process network metadata, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect those services. Our analytics database does not store IP addresses or request headers.

See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy ↗

A weekly cleanup deletes analytics records received more than 180 days earlier. Records can therefore remain until the next scheduled cleanup after that period. Disabling analytics or resetting the app does not delete records already received by the server.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

04

Reminders

Reminders are optional local notifications scheduled by iOS after you grant permission. We do not operate a notification server or collect a push token. You can disable reminders in the app or manage notification permission in iOS Settings.

05

Your choices and deletion

You can edit or delete helpful actions in History. Deleting an action keeps the room progress it earned. To remove all app-managed local actions, room progress, pins, preferences, queued analytics, and reminders, use Settings → Reset all local data. Resetting also removes the old installation identifier; a new one is created when needed. Backups managed outside the app must be managed separately.

You can turn off analytics in Settings without losing access to the app. Already uploaded analytics follow the retention schedule above. We do not have an account or email-to-installation lookup, so contacting us by email alone may not let us identify your analytics records. Contact us if you have a privacy or deletion request; we will explain what we can identify and handle applicable requests. We do not ask you to send your private action history.

06

When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. We use this correspondence to respond to support or privacy requests, keep it only as long as needed to handle the request and meet applicable obligations, and do not add it to app analytics.

07

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes to optional collection will be explained in the app, with consent requested where needed.

For support or privacy questions, contact Serge Sysoev.
